Advisory Committee, July 15, 2008 TOWN OF SCITUATE MASSACHUSETTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE JULY 15, 2008 6 PM MEMBERS PRESENT: Dick Cook, Chairman, Constantine Constantinides, Scott Roberts, Tony Villani, Karen Connelly, Lisa Fenton ALSO PRESENT: Rick Agnew, Town Administrator 1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: On a MOTION by Mr. Constantinides and SECONDED by Ms. Connelly, the meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm at Scituate Town Hall by unanimous vote (6-0). 2. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA: On a MOTION by Ms. Connelly, SECONDED by Mr. Roberts, the agenda was accepted as written by unanimous vote (6-0). 3. ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP REVIEWED: Mr. Agnew informed the Committee of the appointment of Mr. Anthony Antonello. One seat must be still be filled. 4. BUDGET TRANSFERS: Mr. Agnew led the Committee through the proposed transfers. He explained that by end of year the budget must be balanced and that Reserve Fund Transfers require only the Advisory Committee’s approval while all other transfers require approval of the Advisory Committee and the Selectmen. Reserve Fund Transfers: On a MOTION by Mr. Roberts to move $39,840 from the Reserve Fund to Selectmen-Town Counsel and SECONDED by Mr. Villani the vote to approve the transfer was unanimous (6-0). On a MOTION by Mr. Villani to move $46,595 from the Reserve Fund to Snow and Ice and SECONDED by Ms. Fenton the vote to approve the transfer was unanimous (6-0). The amount remaining in the Reserve Fund is $160. Line item transfers
On a MOTION by Mr. Roberts to move $216,618 from the Health Insurance budget and SECONDED by Ms. Connelly the vote to approve the transfer was unanimous (6-0). Mr. Agnew proposed $66,696 from DPW-Personal Services be transferred. Money was left in budget because a position was not filled and there was a vacancy in another position. The following is a detail of the proposed transfers: DPW-Purchase of Services (8,925) On a MOTION by Mr. Roberts to move $65,661 from the Health Insurance budget and SECONDED by Ms. Fenton the vote to approve the transfer was unanimous (6-0). On a MOTION by Mr. Constantinides to move $7,011 from Police Personal Services to Police Materials and Supplies and SECONDED by Mr. Villani the vote to approve the transfer was unanimous (6-0). 5.NO OLD BUSINESS 6. NEW BUSINESS: It was agreed that meetings are to be scheduled for Thursdays at 7 pm. The next meeting will be scheduled for early September. 6. ADJOURNMENT. On a MOTION by Mr. Roberts and SECONDED by Mr. Constandinides, the meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m. Respectfully submitted by Heather Dwyer
