Meeting Minutes
January 21, 2010

PRESENT: Brian Sullivan, Sara Trezise, Edward Tibbetts and John Hallin.

OTHERS: Neil Duggan, Building Commissioner/Zoning Enforcement Officer

First Application: Glenn and Alice Brown of PO Box 335, Scituate, MA requests M.G.L. c40a, sec 6 special permit/finding to raze and reconstruct pre-existing non-conforming single family dwelling at 89 Lighthouse Road.

Alice Brown was present.

Brian Sullivan was the acting chairman for the hearing.

Edward Tibbetts was the third voting member.

Sara Trezise disclosed that she owned property with John Danehey who has represented Alice Brown in the past. No one had any objection to Ms. Trezise hearing the application.

Alice Brown- they would like to raze and reconstruct the existing dwelling. She had already been to Conservation and received approval from that Board.

Brian Sullivan- asked about the garage. He confirmed that they would be bringing the north side setback to 8 feet, front yard setback will stay the same and the right side setback would be less non-conforming. The rear yard setback conforms.

John Hallin- asked if they had pilings under the window.

Alice Brown- it’s just a bay window with a window seat. The engineers will design it.

Sara Trezise- didn’t think it would look huge and overpowering in the neighborhood.

Neil Duggan- felt the style was in keeping with the neighborhood.

Brian Sullivan- asked if it was damaged in the Blizzard of 78.

Alice Brown- not to her knowledge.

Brian Sullivan- read the letter from Patricia and Gregory Geaman the owners of 86-87 Light House Road into the record (see file). They were in favor of the application.

Sullivan moved to grant the application per the plans submitted by the applicant, seconded by Trezise, all in favor, unanimous.

Sullivan will write the decision.

Sullivan moved to adjourn, seconded by Trezise, all in favor, unanimous.
