The Board of Directors meeting was called to order at 6:30PM. Members in attendance: Meg Stillman, Rocky Carrabas, Brendan Lynch, Pam Davis-Chairman, Jim Harmon-Vice Chairman, Gerry Fieremonte, Rita Rozen, and Florence Choate – COA Director.

The minutes of the March 11th meeting were approved with a correction to the date of the upcoming Art Show to read May 23rd.

Florence Chaote presented the staff and directors reports. The number of total rides provided in March was 481. Outreach handled 126 calls, 41 office visits, and 12 home visits. There were increases in attendance at all programs in March. There will be 3 new programs in April and May: arts and crafts, jewelry making, and memoirs. The new carpeting was installed. Florence attended meetings with the South Shore COA directors and the State Advisory Board. We’ve lost some of our formula grant this year and are lobbying for its return in 2010.

Old business: Pam Davis reported on the PBC meeting with the 3 architectural firms. Strekalovsky made the best presentation, submitting plans that showed some possibilities if additional land could be acquired from the neighbors. The contract has been submitted to Ric Agnew for his signature. The board will have a meeting with the architect and PBC asap after the contract signing.
The reauthorized $1.9M for a senior center didn’t appear in the 2009 Town Report. It wasn’t reapproved in time for certification to be added to the list of authorized and unissued projects, but will appear in the 2010 report on the statement of debt authorized and unissued as of June 30, 2009. Brendan Lynch would like Mr. Murray to announce that the $1.9M is back on the books at the upcoming Town Meeting.

New business: Rita Rozen was appointed by the selectmen to take the place of Maura McMann who has resigned. A replacement for Maura, on the SSES board is needed for their monthly meetings. Brenda volunteered for May, Rocky will cover June, Meg will cover July and August. Jerry Fieremonte attempted to attend the last Commission on Disabilities meeting but no one was there at the designated meeting place.

Several issues were addressed regarding the monthly newsletter.
