News/Events - Meeting Minutes

Members present: Brendan Lynch, Meg Stillman, Pam Davis – chairman, Joan Powers, Rocky Carrabes, Rita Rozen, Florence Choate – COA Director, Shawn Harris – Board of Selectman Liaison.
New member Audrey Reidy was announced. The board thanked Joan Paley for her service. Election of officers was postponed until August meeting when more members will be present. Minutes from June meeting were accepted and approved.

Director’s Reports: Florence thanked the Men’s Softball team for painting the front of the COA building and providing all the materials. It was a much needed improvement. The COA is working on getting the information out to seniors on tax work-off and tax deferral programs. COA is still waiting for final budget figures. They are interviewing for a replacement for Outreach part time position. Some programs have slowed for the summer. Outreach has been busy helping elderly apply for eligible programs, Transportation has provided 509 rides in June.

Old Business – there was no SSES meeting in July

New Business – COA is working with the cable TV coordinator to put the monthly calendar on the local channel.

SSA update- SSA is donating another van to the COA Pam announced that SSA is in need of new members. They are the fundraising 5013c for the seniors and have funded several programs.
