Meeting Minutes
April 23, 2012

PRESENT: Chairman Russell Clark and members Frank Lynch and Michael Vazza, Director Jennifer L. Sullivan and Secretary Pam Mullin.

The Scituate Board of Health held a meeting on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Scituate Town Hall located at 600 CJC Highway. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Motion by Frank Lynch to accept the agenda and meeting minutes of March 12, 2012 and March 26, 2012.

Update by the Director:

Facility set-up drill for Anthrax distribution sometime in June.
SANDS is in the process of fundraising.
Beach Coalition working on “Map Your Neighborhood”.
Emergency Preparedness “To Go Bag” to be distributed to all Senior Centers. COA will distribute to people home alone.
Customer Service Training beginning April 24, 2012.
Received DEP letter regarding 48 Town Way Extension.

Well Regulations Discussion

The following handouts were submitted:

Private Wells – An Overview
Model BOH Regulations for Private Wells – Guidance in Using the Model Regulation
Parameters & Testing Frequency for Private Wells
Private Well Guidelines – DEP

This handout does not include any registrations for existing wells, but be cognizant of any private wells in sensitive areas, i.e., Old Oaken Bucket Road. Each member to read over materials and every month discuss at our regularly scheduled meetings to prepare an outline of what we should have. Schedule meetings with DPW and Town Administrator, poll the public then hold a public hearing to discuss further. Canvas surrounding communities for their current well rules and regulations.

Motion by Frank Lynch to adjourn meeting at 8:00 p.m., seconded and approved unanimously.
