RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for
the operation and maintenance of the water treatment
plant, six water wells, two booster stations,
two water storage tanks, four corrosion control
stations, three surface water supplies, 300 acres
of watershed, 100 miles of water distribution
system, 250 fire hydrants, and 7200 water meters.
The Water Division
employs a staff of twelve appropriately licensed
professional individuals who are responsible
for the maintenance and operation of nearly 50
million dollars of assets with an annual operating
budget of less than at two million dollars. A
population of more than 18,000 - which increases
by more than 50% during the summer - consumes
an average of 1.8 million gallons of water each
day.
Responsible for
performing backflow inspections and tests, installing
new water meters, water turn off and on for customers
and water and sewer billing.
