FEMA ELEVATION GRANTS

The Town of Scituate obtains funds from FEMA for grants for elevation of properties in flood hazard areas.  The grants will cover 75% of the cost of elevation up to a maximum of $40,000 per property.  This is a reimbursement program, with one payment of $20,000 made when the home is re-attached to the pilings, the second when a certificate of occupancy is received.  You must be located in a FEMA flood zone, maintain flood insurance, and have sustained significant damage to your home to qualify.  For more information, please contact Laura Harbottle at 781-545-8730.
