In Memoriam Charlie Patterson
Charles P. Patterson, retired police sergeant, of Scituate, passed away at South Shore Hospital on December 29, 2010. Beloved husband of Elinor (White). Charlie was born and raised in Scituate. After high school, he joined the Navy and then worked for the U.S. Air Force as a civilian employee. In 1953, he joined the Scituate Police Depart., retiring after 30 years. Charlie worked 23 years at the Scituate Harbormaster Department. He was a member of Mass. Police Assoc. and VFW Post 8345. Devoted father of Charles Patterson, Jr., Claire Carley both of Kingston, Elizabeth Cusack of Brockton, Mary Patterson-Lund, David Patterson and Mark Patterson all of Scituate. Brother of Gilbert Patterson of Scituate. Proud grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of 7. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., Scituate on Monday, January 3 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Nativity, Scituate at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, January 2 from 3 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth, P.O. Box 346, Carver, MA 02330-0346.
