Scituate Recreation’s Community Sailing Program
Burgee Design Contest
burgee:(noun) an identification flag flown from the top of a mast, e.g. a sailing club pennant

As Scituate Recreation recreates the Scituate Community Sailing Program, a burgee design must be chosen. This design will be recognized as the symbol of the new and improved Scituate Community Sailing Program. Your help is needed to come up with this design!

Rules for contest:

• Artists of all ages and abilities
• Design on triangular pennant on Entry Form, see reverse or download from website, www.town.scituate.ma.us
  
• Design colors should be red, white and/or blue
  
• Designed for Scituate Community Sailing Program boat type, 420 and Mercury boats
  
• Submit design by March 15 on completed Entry Form in marked boxes at the following locations:
  
• Art Rooms in Scituate elementary schools, Gates Middle School or High School
  
• Scituate Recreation Office and ScituateTown Library
  
• Or mail to Esther Blacker, 35 Common Street, Scituate, MA 02066

Judges
Members of the Scituate Recreation and the Friends of Scituate Recreation will choose the top design finalists. The final winner will be chosen by vote at the Put the Wind in Our Sails Fundraiser on Friday, March 28, 2008. Everyone who attends this fundraiser will cast a vote for the final burgee design. Prizes

• $100.00 Cash Prize awarded to the winner of the contest
• A chance to see your design proudly flown at the Scituate Community Sailing Program at the Massachusetts Humane Boathouse at Marina Park and on the masts of Scituate Community Sailing Program sail boats

We reserve the right to make slight modification in the winning design as necessary for formatting purposes.
