Scituate Community Sailing Program Fundraiser
sponsored by
Friends of Scituate Recreation, Inc. and the Scituate Historical Society

To benefit the Town of Scituate Recreation Department’s Sailing Program &
Massachusetts Humane Boat House.

The Mission of the Scituate Recreation Department is to provide exceptional and creative programs, services and facilities that foster community spirit and involvement while enhancing the quality of life for all Scituate Residents. We would like to continue to enhance life in Scituate with our newly expanded sailing program.

Currently, Scituate Recreation offers a beginner sailing program that services about 200 children per summer. Our intent is to expand this program to benefit not only the children of our community but the adults as well.

We are delighted to have teamed up with the Scituate Historical Society to start this program. The Historical Society arduously worked on re-storing the Massachusetts Humane Boathouse and Mossing Shed on Edward Foster Road. Now that the buildings have been restored the Historical Society has generously welcomed the Recreation Department to utilize that space for our water safety courses. We are very excited about this partnership because not only will the citizens of Scituate and South Shore be able to learn to sail, learn boat safety and more…but also will learn the history of these two very important buildings and history of our Town.

With the recent donation of a fleet of 420 race boats, the Town’s purchase of the Marine Park located on Edward Foster Road and a permanent home in the Mass Humane Boat House for the sailing program , we are committed to taking this program to the next level!

Also, this will afford the Scituate High School Sailors the opportunity to start a High School Sailing Team!

We need your assistance to make this a reality. Please consider one of the following donations to assist us in this endeavor for our community.
