the text contained in this website, the official printed publications
shall take precedence. Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws,
official printed copies of general and zoning by-laws are maintained
in the office of the Town Clerk.
Town of Scituate’s
Policy on Municipality Website Links and Information
The purpose of the Municipality’s website is to provide information
about the local government, services, and attractions. The Municipality’s
website may provide links to websites outside the locality’s
website that also serve this purpose. The Municipality is not responsible
for and does not endorse the information on any linked website unless
the Municipality’s website states otherwise. The following
criteria will be used to decide whether to grant requests for Municipality
website links. If a particular request does not fit any of the following
criteria, the local authority will decide whether to approve the
request. The local authority will approve the requested website link
if it serves the general purpose of the Municipality’s website.
The Municipality’s website will provide
links to website for:
- Governmental and educational institutions
- Organization with some relationship to the municipality (including
but not limited to: organizations contracting with the Town,
organizations sponsoring Municipality activities or programs,
and organizations
participating in municipal activities or programs)
- Generally
recognized community organizations (committee, boards)
- Organizations
providing information about art, cultural, and sporting activities
in the Town’s area.

about tourist attractions in the Municipality’s area.
The Municipality’s website will not
provide links to websites for:

advocating a position on a local, state, or federal issue.

or other for-profit organizations unless they fit any of the
criteria state above.
